I am 161cm (5′3") and weigh 116Kgs (256lbs). I need to lose weight and want a fast way to kick start it….?

By admin

I have tried almost every diet out there and have had limited to no success. I lack true motivation, so I need something where I will see results fast to begin with so that I can see that the changes are working.
I have tried things like weight watchers, Jenny Craig and SureSlim and none of these really work for me. I have also tried a few of the meal replacement diets, but found myself famished in between "meals".
I am reasonably active and take my dogs for walks every day. my job is also reasonably physical and I work 10hour days. I guess my main problem is portion control/snacking.
How do I reduce my portions and still feel full at the same time. I have tried just reducing portion size, but find I get hungry quickly and end up snacking on bad stuff (particularly at work).

Any suggestions for healthy snacks that ,make you feel full?
Quick ways to kick start the process and see results fast?

I really need to lose the weight for health reasons – and this scares me too.

Thanks for your help.

I have had luck losing weight with the Wii-Fit. My husband bought it for me for Christmas, and so far I have lost about 8 pounds. It is a nice motivator because it allows you to weigh in every day and compliments you if you lose weight, and (ahem!) gets on your case if you don’t! It also has a nice range of exercises to choose from if you want to work hard for 30 minutes, or if you would rather play balance games when you are tired, you can do that, too.
You also see how many calories you burn, and how hard you worked to burn it off, so that 250 candy bar starts looking like an hour of jogging!

Edit – I just re-read your question. I think you are looking more for nutrition motivation help than tips on being motivated through exercise.
I eat foods that are filling and skip foods that are high in calorie. Canned soup, dry cerial, carrots, and grapefruit have worked out really well for me. They are low-cal and filling, and easy to prepare.

The rest of it is stuff you already know – eat a balanced diet, get enough rest, and find ways of getting active in your down time.
