I can also confirm your calculation is correct for the boat problem. Thank you so much rusnacko! I’d like to manipulate one of your equations to make it look easier to understand:

V(after) = V(before) – m(rock)/rho(water)

You can see here rusnacko was right, the term m(rock)-rho(water) will lower the inital volume.
